Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud 编辑

This preview enables you to administer updates to your on-premises Citrix Hypervisor servers and pools from Citrix Cloud.

By moving to a continuous update model, orchestrated by Citrix Cloud, you benefit from an efficient release process that delivers new features to you faster. If you’re not already a Citrix Cloud user, this feature offers an easy on-ramp into Citrix Cloud.

This preview also includes certificate verification, a new feature that ensures that all TLS communication endpoints on the management network verify the certificates used to identity their peers before transmitting confidential information. For more information, see Certificate verification.

Overview

Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud release stream and the Hypervisor Management service work together to enable you to apply continuous updates to your on-premises Citrix Hypervisor servers and pools from Citrix Cloud.

  • Connect to your Citrix Cloud account from any browser to use the new Hypervisor Management service.

  • The Hypervisor Management service can connect to and register any of your on-premises Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud pools that are in a resource location containing Connector Appliances.

  • We make updates available for Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud on a regular basis in our secure CDN.

  • See when updates are available for your pool in the Hypervisor Management service. Use this service to choose when you apply updates to your pool.

  • For other pool operations, use Citrix Hypervisor Center.

Get started

To use this preview you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must have a Citrix Cloud account.

    You can sign up for a Citrix Cloud account at the onboarding page: https://onboarding.cloud.com/.

    For more information about Citrix Cloud, see the product documentation.

  • You must have an valid license for Citrix Hypervisor or an entitlement through Citrix Virtual Apps or Citrix Virtual Desktops or Citrix DaaS (formerly Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service) with on-premises desktops and apps.

  • You must have an active Customer Success Services (CSS) subscription.

Citrix provides the required installation files CitrixHypervisorCenter.msi and CitrixHypervisor8Cloud_YYYY-MM-DD.iso on the Citrix Hypervisor downloads page.

Steps to use this preview:

  1. Install the latest version of Citrix Hypervisor Center
  2. Install or upgrade to the Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud release stream
  3. Connect your Citrix Hypervisor pool to Citrix Cloud
  4. Administer Citrix Hypervisor updates from Citrix Cloud

Note:

The following features are not supported in Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud:

  • Legacy partition layout
  • Health Check
  • Dynamic Memory Control

Compatibility notes

In this preview, Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud is compatible with the following components:

  • The latest version of the Citrix VM Tools for Windows
  • The latest version of the Citrix VM Tools for Linux
  • The latest version of the Workload Balancing virtual appliance
  • The latest version of the Citrix Hypervisor Conversion Manager virtual appliance

These components are available on the Citrix Hypervisor downloads page.

You must use Citrix Hypervisor Center with Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud. XenCenter is not compatible with Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud. For more information, see Citrix Hypervisor Center.

Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud contains the same set of in-box drivers as Citrix Hypervisor 8.2 Cumulative Update 1, with the following exceptions:

  • mlx5_core updated to version 5.4-1.0.3.0
  • e1000e updated to version 3.8.7

For a list of the drivers included in Citrix Hypervisor, see Driver versions for XenServer and Citrix Hypervisor. Any new or updated drivers that have been made available for Citrix Hypervisor 8.2 Cumulative Update 1 are not compatible with Citrix Hypervisor 8 Cloud.

Terminology notes

In this documentation, the server that was previously referred to as the ‘pool master’ is now referred to as the ‘pool coordinator’ or ‘coordinator’. The other servers in the pool are referred to as ‘other pool members’ or ‘supporting servers’. In the product APIs and error messages, the terms ‘master’ and ‘slave’ might still be used.

You can use the information in this section to gather the application logs and other data that can help us track and resolve the issue.

What information to collect

When reporting an issue and providing logs, ensure that you provide logs that cover the time period of the reported incident.

Depending on the type of incident, you might need to collect the following logs:

For all incidents, provide the following information:

  • Your Citrix Cloud customer ID
  • The time of the reported event
  • The host name of the server or servers that encountered the issue
  • The UUID of any VMs that encountered an issue
