USAGE
Aggress has occasionally been unjustly maligned as an upstart back-formation, that is, as having been created by people who incorrectly thought thataggression was formed from the verbaggress. As used in the field of psychologyaggress may be a back-formation fromaggression, butaggress has been in general use since the 16th century and in fact antedatesaggression.
