Group Policy management template updates for XenApp and XenDesktop 编辑
Templates are a source for creating policies from a predefined starting point. You can import or export them. Built-in Citrix templates, optimized for specific environments or network conditions, can be used as:
- A source for creating your own policies and templates to share between Sites.
- A reference for easier comparison of results between deployments as you are able to quote the results, for example, “…when using Citrix template x or y…”
- A method for communicating policies with Citrix Support or trusted third parties by importing or exporting templates.
About this article
This article contains links to download additional templates and updates to the Citrix templates built in to the XenApp and XenDesktop Group Policy management package.
While you will still find Citrix-provided templates in Citrix Studio and in a GPO editor (after installing the Group Policy management package), we want to be able to quickly provide you with updates and templates for scenarios beyond what is included in the installer package.
Templates in this article should be used with the latest version of XenApp and XenDesktop unless otherwise specified. While their name and description are in English, you can import them and use them in other languages.
Templates
CloudBridge WAN
This template is an update to a built-in Citrix template, designed to maximize the advantages of CloudBridge WAN acceleration. It configures settings that allow XenApp and XenDesktop to maximize the benefits of CloudBridge WAN acceleration devices in the path between a client and a VDA.
You can assign this template specifically to sessions with CloudBridge present using the “With Citrix CloudBridge” policy filter, allowing for use of different policy settings for CloudBridge and for other connections.

Note: It will appear as a custom template after you import it.
Citrix Receiver for Chrome
This template exposes some of the policy settings available that have exclusive or special effect on sessions from Chromebook endpoints.
Citrix Receiver for HTML5
This template includes the applicable settings for sessions using Citrix Receiver for HTML5. In this version of Citrix Receiver, you need to enable WebSockets because in the default installation of XenApp and XenDesktop, it’s disabled.
Improve user experience in unreliable networks
This template enables the Framehawk UDP-based graphics protocol and exposes some of the policy settings available that have exclusive or special effect on these sessions.
Pass-through (dual hop) application sessions
In deployments with managed/pooled/RDS-hosted virtual desktops, it is common to provide users with applications that are not in the desktop image using a pass-through session to XenApp. This template is intended for XenApp deployments providing applications to desktops.
It should decrease the CPU usage in the application session server and, at the same time, allow the desktop session to optimize the delivery to the client endpoint device. You achieve this by disabling the video codec for compression in graphics and delivering compressed graphics from the application to the desktop.
IMPORTANT: Using this template increases the traffic between the applications and desktops.
Citrix Universal Print Server
This is a sample template designed to be used as the starting point to configure your deployment of Citrix Universal Print Server. A resultant policy allows for printer-specific drivers to be used if previously installed by the VDA administrator; otherwise, the Citrix Universal Printer Driver is used. It also lists sample printer assignments (new alternative to session printers and default printer settings), which should be replaced with the proper ones for your deployment. This template requires domain access to the printers for proper configuration.
Templates for previous versions
The following link includes the templates for versions earlier than 7.6FP3. These templates appear as custom templates when imported.
