The three kinds ofuccheda-- cutting-off, excision, or bringing to an end: (1) (a) 自性断 with the incoming of wisdom, passion or illusion ceases of itself; (b) 不生断 with realization of the doctrine that all is 空 unreal, evil karma ceases to arise; (c) 缘缚断 illusion being ended, the causal nexus of the passions disappears and the attraction of the external ceases. (2) The threervakaor ascetic stages are (a) 见所断 ending the condition of false views; (b) 修行断 getting rid of desire and illusion in practice; (c) 非所断 no more illusion or desire to be cut off.
