antedate
/ˌæntɪˈdeɪt; `æntɪˌdet/ (also pre-date) v [Tn] 1 put an earlier date on (a document, letter, etc) than the one at the time of writing （在文件, 信件等上面）写上比实际书写日期早的日期: an antedated cheque 填有比实际日期早的支票. 2 be before (sth/sb) in time 先于, 早于（某事物[某人]）: This event antedates the discovery of America by several centuries. 这件事比发现美洲早几个世纪.
