MTS config help

Question

Hi, server is win2000 server, concurrent user is about 450. Box memory is 8G, database is 8i. Since can not increase more memory, we try to config MTS setup from dedicate server. We set shared pool 3G, if we increase into 5G, then user connections are kicked out. We have calculate all related parameters including:

MTS_servers=5

MTS_max_servers=60 (10 users for one shared server)

MTS_dispatchers=3

MTS_MAX_dispatcher=10

shared_pool_size=5G

problem:

- why bigger memory, will make user connection broken? Is there any limit for windows system like 3G max?

- windows uses thread process, is there any special tuning issues?

- Might we should try to config the large_pool_size? (9i is much stable, but

8i still supports large_pool?)
